We make films and animations about sustainability, so it stands to reason that we practice what we preach. We do all the right things with energy and waste in our office and we’re in the process of getting ISO14001 certified to prove it. We also treat our staff with the respect they deserve; we cover their travel costs to and from work (to make sure they turn up on time) and we give them an extra day off on their birthdays to enjoy themselves. But let’s face it, we’re a small business with a small footprint. In our eyes the best way for us to make a difference is to do what we do best; to communicate sustainability. So here’s all of the creative corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives we run to engage people in sustainability.
Enough is not Enough
Enough is not Enough is a monthly webisode produced in partnership with the Guardian Sustainable Business. Each webisode features the Guardian’s Jo Confino asking thought-provoking questions to sustainability professionals from the world’s leading businesses. So, why not sit back, relax and watch the unmissable series on The Guardian website? It will get your CSR side of the brain thinking, that’s for the sure!
Green Wednesdays is an ethical film screening club held at the Science Museum’s Dana Centre in central London. The event screens the latest thought-provoking documentaries and is followed by a live debate. The tickets are fully subsidised by Nice and Serious, making it accessible to everyone. If you’re interested in joining us for the next film screening, have a quick butchers at the Green Wednesdays website.
Nice Days Out
Once a year, the entire Nice and Serious team take a day out of the office and visit a local school to teach the children about film production, animation and environmental issues. At the end of the fun-filled day, the children get to take home an Oscar Award winning film. If you work in a school and would like to invite us in for a Nice and Serious session, please drop us a quick email with your contact details.
Nice Shorts is a new initiative from Nice and Serious. A couple of times a year, the whole team collaborates and creates a short comical film production or animation about a topical environmental or social issue. It brings some much needed humour to the table so if you’re in need of a laugh (we all do, let’s face it), head to our splendid YouTube page to see other examples.
Sustainaballs is a five-a-side football tournament that brings together sustainability professionals from all over London. The aim is to get like minded individuals together in a fun and active way, sparking interesting discussions and allowing people to have a bit of fun doing good! If you fancy a kick about on the football pitch, drop us a line or visit the Sustainaballs website for more information.
