Nice and Serious is a team of expert film makers who share a passion and understanding of environmental issues and sustainability. So if you're looking to communicate a complex environmental conundrum, we're the people to come to. We have the knowledge to understand and the creativity to inspire.

Ben Meaker Co-Founder and Director Ben has a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia and a Masters in Science Communication from Imperial College London. Ben has a keen eye for photography and enjoys using the medium of film to tell engaging stories about people and the environment. Ben has previously worked for a number of sustainability communications agencies in London where he learned how to combine science, social marketing and advertising to create engaging messages. In 2009 and 2010, Ben was listed as one of the Future 100 Ethical Entrepreneurs of the year after setting up Nice and Serious with Tom.

Tom Tapper Co-Founder and Director Like Ben, Tom has a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia as well as a Masters in Science Communication from Imperial College London. During his studies, he read extensively on communicating environmental issues, and wrote his Masters thesis on communicating sustainability through the medium of film. After his studies, Tom founded Nice and Serious as he passionately believed that film was the most powerful way of engaging our society with the challenges and solutions to the environmental problems we face. Tom also dedicates time to communicating environmental issues to the wider public, having given talks with Ben at the Natural History Museum, the Bank of America and the University of East Anglia.

Matt Harmer Producer Matt joined Nice and Serious as a producer in December 2009. He has a degree in Marine and Environmental Biology from the University of St Andrews and a Masters in Science Media Production from Imperial College London. Perviously, he has worked in a variety of roles on numerous TV programmes which have been broadcast on channels such as National Geographic and Sky. Matt's interest in film ranges from Hollywood classics to investigative documentary, he believes there is scope for a change in the way the natural world is portrayed through film.

Serafima Serafimova Production Assistant Serafima is an artist and a writer with a passion for environmental and ethical issues. She joined Nice and Serious in January 2010 as a researcher and production assistant. Serafima writes regularly for the Nice and Serious blog.

Alex Callejon Motion Graphics Designer Alex is our Motion Graphics Designer. He moved from sunny Spain in 2010 looking to work with a nice team on some serious projects. Alex has a degree in Visual Communications from Carlos III Madrid University and has several years experience in producing high-end motion graphics content for broadcast television - working for channels such as Fox, Turner and National Geographic. Alex has always been passionate about design and ethical issues, and enjoys working from big conceptual projects right down to quick and quirky animations.

Nick Earp Editor Nick is the Nice and Serious editor. A creative and experienced chopper, Nick has spent many years locked away in dark rooms editing a wide variety of content for clients such as Universal, Monkey Kingdom, Levi's, Ministry of Sound, Bebo, AEI Media and Eigenlabs. Now on a mission to do more for the sustainability of our world than be a kamikaze cyclist and grow broccoli in Brockley he's joined up with a nice team to make serious films.
